Since being forced to sit at the same table, Mu Qi’s homework was always being completed punctually every day. Although it was copied, the teachers seemed to have reached a consensus to open one eye and close the other. They didn’t need to bicker about the details.

One month had passed since the first semester of high school. In this month, Su Yanxi gradually became acquainted with the students in the class. So when the class was over, many students would come to ask her questions. On her way home, people would also enthusiastically greet her.

As for Su Yanxi’s tablemate, everyone unanimously ignored each other.

Mu Qi would lie down on the desk and wanted to rest every day. But she found that she couldn’t even rest peacefully as there was too much chattering reaching her ears. She tried enduring it once or twice, but, at last, she lost her temper and flared up. However, to her dismay, not only were they not afraid of her, but they stared at her with contempt. So she could only curse irritably under her breath.

She stepped on the stool, then flipped over from the table behind, put her hands in her pockets and walked away.

The silhouette from the back looked very dashing, but at the same time it was also intimidating, and the people passing by would unconsciously move away.

Su Yanxi looked at the proud back, bit her lips, then smiled and rejected everyone’s questions. Lifting her heels, she walked out.

“Qi-Ge, where are you going?”

As soon as Su Yanxi walked out of the back door, she saw Hu Ying holding Mu Qi’s shoulders, and she was so frightened that she quickly hid in the corner and watched secretly.

“Find a place to sleep.” Mu Qi looked sleepy, looking like she couldn’t get enough sleep.

“Huh?” Hu Ying glanced back at the classroom suspiciously and said: “Don’t you usually sleep in the classroom?” With this glance, she just saw a person hiding behind the back door, and that person’s feet were exposed.

The person seemed to be shocked and quickly retracted their foot.

Hu Ying: “…”

Mu Qi didn’t notice this, so she waved her hand and replied, “Go to the class, I will go straight back and ask for a leave for myself.”

“No… Qi-ge, how would you find any reason to leave?” When Hu Ying heard she was looking for a reason to ask for leave, she felt a headache. She even had hemorrhoids and appendixes for Qi-ge, although she came out fine in school the next day. This kind of symptom did not accord with the patient’s appendix, and it lasted for a few days. As such, she had to face her class teacher’s suspicious gaze the whole time .

“Whatever.” Mu Qi didn’t need to worry about the rest of the matter, and she naturally doesn’t want to use her brain to think about it.

Only Hu Ying was left alone, crying without tears.

She finally arrived at her old place. Climbing over the wall, Mu Qi walked towards home empty-handed. However, when she was approaching home, she turned around and ran towards the alley next to the community. There was an internet cafe here, with usually very few people.

Unexpectedly, when she arrived there, she found Qi Wei, the boss of their neighbouring high school.

At the same time, Qi Wei also saw her and immediately exploded. Jumping up from the seat, she glared at her angrily. “Why the hell are you here?”

She didn’t want to see Mu Qi again, so she ran into this small Internet cafe. Unexpectedly, this Mu Qi was vicious, and she had also actually followed her all the way here.

Mu Qi was also a little surprised. She smiled and walked over. Placing her ass beside her, she glanced at the computer screen. Qi Wei wanted to turn the computer over before it was too late.

“Oh, it’s another non-mainstream gang vying for war.” Her tone was a little lazy as she said leisurely.

Qi Wei stared at her, then she also sat down and took a sip of the Coke beside her. After suppressing her anger, she asked: “Are you following me? Why are you here again, where I am?”

Mu Qi raised her eyebrows. As she puffed her cigarette she said, “I have a crush on you.”

Hearing that, Qi Wei choked on her coke.

Mu Qi squinted at her, as her lazy gaze, under the smoke, appeared even more lazy, and her voice was low and as she questioned, “I haven’t asked you yet, why did you come here? Your home is in the north of the city.”

“As long as I’m happy, I’ll come as I wish,” Qi Wei said shamelessly.

“Oh.” Mu Qi withdrew his gaze flatly and focused on the computer screen, obviously not interested in why the other party came here.

Qi Wei: “…” Fuck, she couldn’t get angry when she saw this terribly silly face.

Tilting her head to see that the other party was watching a movie, she snorted and said,” you come back to the Internet cafe, just to watch a movie, What’s the point of it.”

Mu Qi hooked her lips and laughed, saying, “Don’t your non-mainstream gangs also play with relish?”

Qi Wei was left speechless and didn’t wish to talk anymore.

so, one is watching a movie, and the other is playing a game, which is also quiet.

At night, there was more traffic in the Internet cafes, and more takeaways would be ordered.

“Get up, let’s go together.” Mu Qi patted the shoulder of the person next to her.

“What?” Qi Wei was still doing her daily tasks and did not hear her clearly. Pulling down the earphones, she looked confusedly at her.

“Wanna grab a drink, yes or no?” Mu Qi had already stood up at this moment. She was 1.73 meters tall, taller than most of the boys in school.

“Let’s go!” Qi Wei told the gang members without pretense. Then she shut down the computer screen and left together.

The duo went out of the Internet cafe one after the other.

As soon as My Qi walked out of the Internet cafe, she was overwhelmed by the breeze of cold air.

“Hey, this old lady is going to die in this cold!” Qi Wei exclaimed in exaggeration with her eyes wide-opened.

Mu Qi glanced at her up and down, tugging the corner of her mouth and leaving.

Qi Wei was puzzled by her look, but she didn’t rush to settle the scores and quietly followed her.

The duo found a roadside barbecue stall, ordered a bunch of things, a few bottles of beer, and started eating.

Mu Qi didn’t speak. She just wanted to find someone to accompany her to drink.

Qi Wei saw that she was not interested in talking, so she also stopped looking for a topic.

When Su Yanxi and Hu Ying passed through there for their evening study, they saw Mu Qi who was supposed to find a place to rest, here drinking and chatting with the boss of Linan Middle School. How could this scene not make Hu Ying angry, as she immediately ran over to them?

Su Yanxi also clutched the schoolbag behind her and followed.

“Qi-ge, what’s going on, why are you here with this stinky mushroom?” Hu Ying pointed at Qi Wei angrily, and looked at Mu Qi.

Mu Qi hadn’t spoken yet, and Qi Wei immediately exploded. This dull silence while drinking with Mu Qi had already irritated her, and she already could not hold back. There was finally a chance to speak now, so how could she miss it?

She patted the table and stood up, saying, “Who are you talking about? Believe it or not, I’m still the same as last time. I will make you cry!”

When she remembered the shame about being beaten on the nose last time, Hu Ying stopped talking, and threw down her school bag shouting, “Come on, let’s see who beats whom to cry.”

As soon as Mu Qi looked up, he noticed Su Yanxi standing two meters away. She said to the two people who had already gone crazy and grabbed each other’s hair, “Be careful, don’t hurt good students.”

This was obviously a reminder, but Su Yanxi inexplicably felt that the other party was ridiculing her. She pouted and walked over angrily, holding her school bag. Sitting next to Mu Qi, she took the wine glass, closed her eyes and drank the whole cup.

After drinking, her face immediately flushed red, and she bent over while coughing.

This series of actions happened so fast that Mu Qi had no time to react, and the two people who had already grabbed each other’s clothes were dumbfounded.

“I’m drinking. I’m not a good student.” Su Yanxi’s eyes were moist, her cheeks ruddy, as she stared at Mu Qi sternly, and accused the other party of what she had just said.

Mu Qi couldn’t help but laugh, resting her elbow on the table and holding her forehead with her other hand. She laughed in a low voice, to the point where she couldn’t control it anymore.

Hu Ying and Qi Wei also stopped fighting and laughed while clutching their stomachs.

The people at the other tables heard the movement and looked over, but the three of them continued to laugh, regardless. Su Yanxi blushed all over, and even the roots of her ears turned red.

And after saying, ‘I’m drinking. I’m not a good student’, she completely broke into the small group of Mu Qi and the others.

The late autumn morning was still freezing, and the ground was covered with a thin layer of frost.

Mu Qi came out of the community and met Su Yanxi unexpectedly at the entrance. But when she saw a layer of water droplets on her hair, she knew she had been waiting there for a long time.

Su Yanxi didn’t know that the tip of her nose was red right now, and the dew on her hair revealed that she had been waiting here for a long time.

“Qi-ge, you got up so early today.” Hu Ying hurried over with her schoolbag, only to find that Little Cutie was there, and immediately said, “Xiao Xixi, you are also very early.”

Su Yanxi blinked her eyes and said without batting an eye, “I just came here when I met Mu Qi.”

Mu Qi, who had seen through her lie, didn’t expose her. As she raised her foot and walked forward, she wondered, ‘Why does this girl come across here over and over again?’

Hu Ying didn’t think so much. Instead, she felt that she could meet her here every day. This was simply fate. The more she thought about it, the happier she became. She patted Su Yanxi on the shoulder and said, “Xiao Xixi, you have fate with us.”

Mu Qi listened to their conversation while walking in front, and the corners of her mouth twitched, feeling a slight headache for her innocent friend.

Su Yanxi heard it and smiled happily, nodding in agreement as she replied, “I think so too.”

Mu Qi massaged her forehead and quickened her pace.

Chapter 4- Copying your homework

TL: Qian

Today was Friday so school was dismissed early in the afternoon, but instead of feeling happy at the short school day, Mu Qi only felt distressed when she thought about the hotel she had to go to tonight.

“Qi-ge, are you going to Yuan Fu Lounge later?” Hu Ying arrived by her side and looked at her carefully.

She knows that today Mu Qi cannot be provoked. At best she will laugh it off with you, at worst she’ll do things that’ll make you cry for your mother and father.

Su Yanxi also noticed Mu Qi’s strangeness today and didn’t dare to talk at this moment, choosing to follow them quietly instead.

“You guys go back first.” Mu Qi glanced at Su Yanxi behind him, and raised her chin slightly towards her, “You should send her home.”

“No problem.” Hu Ying patted her chest confidently.

Su Yanxi wanted to ask Mu Qi what she was going to do at Yuan Fu Lounge, but before she could even open her mouth, she saw Hu Ying blinking rapidly at her and trying to signal something to her. In the end, she could only put away her curiosity.

“I’m leaving.” Mu Qi didn’t notice the exchange between her two friends and gave them away before getting on the bus.

Once the bus disappeared from view, Su Yanxi retracted her gaze and looked at Hu Ying who wore a worried expression on her face. She asked in confusion, “Who is she meeting at Yuan Fu Lounge?”

“Her parents.” Hu Ying didn’t elaborate further. After all, this is her friend’s private matter and it is not her place to say too much.

Su Yanxi understood that she wasn’t going to get anything else from her and so she didn’t ask anymore. Instead, she looked in the direction Mu Qi left in with a thoughtful expression.

Meanwhile, Mu Qi sat on the bus, blankly looking at the scenery that flashed by outside her window before arriving at her destination. She got off the bus and looked up, the three characters ‘Yuan Fu Lounge” looking down at her. After standing there for another five minutes, she made her way inside.

“Welcome.” The receptionist at the front desk greeted her with a smile.

Although Mu Qi was wearing a school uniform, the receptionist dared not to look down on the young girl. After all, those who can come and eat here were not ordinary people.

“Box 8 on the second floor.” Mu Qi repeated the text message her father had sent her earlier. Just a few characters, no more than necessary, just what she expected from her father.

“This way, Miss.” The waiter standing at the top of the stairs said.

“En.” Mu Qi nodded and walked into Box 8. She was already in a bad mood to begin with and now it was getting even worse. She pressed her lips together and knocked on the door to the room.

“Come in.”

Mu Qi opened the door and saw her divorced parents sitting on either side of the round table.

Her dad wore a black suit, his face blank with no anger on it and there was a laptop in front of him. One could clearly tell that he was still working before she came in.

On the other side was her mother.

She had just finished shooting a commercial as the makeup on her face had not been removed yet. In order to not be recognized and accosted by her fans, her mother wore sunglasses over her eyes and it made her entire face seem cold.

Mu Qi sat down in the middle of the two of them as usual and threw her school bag onto one of the side chairs. She took out her phone and refused to look at either of them.

However, even if she seemed to be solely looking at the phone in front of her, her mind was focused with the two people beside her.

The two of them had already ordered the food and after a while, the waiter came in to serve them an array of dishes. When the dishes were set on the table, Mu Guoqiang finally spoke: “Let’s eat.”

Mu Guoqiang is the CEO of the Mu’s Entertainment Group. He has a few first-string stars working for him and her mother had met him when she was an actress working for him.

However, there were just too many female stars constantly revolving around Mu Guoqiang. There were always one or two who tried to climb into his bed. If it was just once or twice it would’ve been tolerable, but one could only tolerate so many. When the frequency increased, Mu Qi’s mother, Liu Xin, couldn’t stand it anymore. Afterward, there were constant quarreling and cold wars being waged by both sides.

In the end, the final result was a divorce.

And Mu Qi, who was caught in the middle, was hurt the most.

During the meal, the three of them were silent, and the only sounds being made were the sounds of chopsticks clanging against the porcelain bowls.

In such a depressing environment, even the best appetite will be greatly reduced, let alone Mu Qi’s.

She put down the chopsticks in her hand, stood up, and said, “I’m full. I’ll be leaving first.”

“En.” Mu Guoqiang barely spared her a glance.

“Be careful on your way back.” Although she had divorced the man across from her, Liu Xin still doted on her flesh and blood daughter. She couldn’t bear to treat her daughter so distantly and watched Mu Qi leave with a complicated expression.

After the door behind her was closed, Mu Qi’s calm expression instantly collapsed and her fists clenched at her sides. She pressed her lips together tightly and flung her school bag over her shoulder before making her way downstairs.

“Thank you for coming.”

The receptionist bowed as she walked out. The bustling city outside of the restaurant was full of life but Mu Qi didn’t feel the vibrant liveliness and instead felt depressed at the liveliness outside. She glanced back at the restaurant one more time before finally retracting her gaze and then left without a second glance back.

Inside the box, both Mu Guoqiang and Liu Xin quickly finished their meals and left separately without saying anything.
